Using your iPhone in Concordia's wifi?

Have you received a copy of the config file from me to use your iPhone/iPod touch on the infamous Concordia U. wifi connection? if so let me know how its working thus far and if you have any comments or reflections, or if you are facing any problems in a certain campus, please let me know what kind of problem you are facing, leave a comment if there arent any issues with the config, so that i could go ahead and release it to the public.

Thank you for beta testing.

Regards

Ahmed.

I didn't really get what you were trying to say sorry.

Do you mean that you can't run both 3g and wifi while browsing? Or does your cell network gets disconnected when u connect to the wifi network. ( Ie you can't make or receive calls) becase the iPhone usually decides which connection is better (wifi or 3g) so if ur in a wifi zone n ur iPhone will automatically switch to wifi when you try to use data rather than 3g or edge

Please explain what the problem is and I'll try my best to assess it

Ahmed.

Hi

I got your config file last night and this morning while waiting for the shuttle to Loyola, I was able to connect to the Con U wifi outside of the Hall building. It also works out here in our building ( CJ ), even the bathroom. So far so good. I will keep you posted.
Can you explain how you developed this config file and what it basically does to the iphone or itouch?

Thanks for the post mike, Apple has added the ability to support WPA 2 enterprise in their new firmware (2.0 +) for the iPhone/iPod touch, however they didnt implement the option to add TTSL directly from the device, they also didnt allow for the device to receive random certificates from any server. now the file you got from me, contains a certificate that the Concordia server usually sends, it also contains TTSL support so when the server tries to communicate with your device, the authentication process goes smoothly because the iPhone/iPod has a certificate that it can compare to the one sent from the University, i hope i didnt complicate things more but this is what happens in layman's terms ;)

Hey man.

I was wondering if it was possible yet to auto connect to the wifi at the Loyola campus so that I don't have to manually connect each time.

Thanks!!
Mat

Dear Mat, yes it is possible to do so, the new update allows you to do just that, just drop me a line and ill send you the updated version.

Cheers

Hi Ahmed,
As I mentioned, I now have an IPhone.
It's not the new 3G, but the original.
It's unlocked and jailbroken.
Just recently we used Pwnage to update the software to v2.0.
I hope this doesn't make a difference to using your patch to connect through the University WiFi network?

Just open the attachment i sent you from the iPhone, that is from the Mail program in the iPhone to get the proper setup, if you've received the patch on a different email than that setup on your iPhone, just forward it to that one, and follow the onscreen instructions

let us all know how its working.

Ahmed.
